STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
A characteristic timber Edwardian house with some interesting details, built in 1913. It is architecturally significant locally as representative of this doemstic style and historically in embodying professinal family life in Newtown before the Great War.

Residence - Physical Description 1
Description
A triple-fronted, timber Edwardian house, with a high-hipped roof. Gables project at left side rear and right. The verandah returns around the angle, under the right gable and slightly beyond. This has a rectangular bay window of three sashes. The verandah is bullnosed, with a palisade rail and sinuous curved Art Nouveau fretwork brackets on turned posts and there is a deep arch under the gable.
Upper gables are timbered, pressed metal roughcast pattern and there are roughcast panels over the verandah post-pairs. The spandrel is mock shingles. Upper gables jetty on ogee brackets, which occur in pairs also at the eaves. Barge ends splay. The chimney has a rendered frieze and moulds over red brick, with a terracotta pot. Upper window lights are leadlight. The entrance door is panelled, with side and fanlights, with moulded members. Next, is an oculus leadlight.
