LOCAL SIGNIFICANCE - INCLUDED IN HERITAGE PRECINCT
14 Hope Street is one of two buildings in this vicinity which date from circa 1853. It has a good degree of integrity. It is of local significance.

Residence - Physical Description 1
14 Hope Street is a single storey building clad in weatherboards and it has a gable roof clad in corrugate iron. the rear section of the gable has been extended to form a skillion. There is a chimney made of dar red/blue bricks. The verandah is possibly a later additin. The cast iron columns and the lace decoration on the verandah is most certainly a later addition as it was popular int he 1870's. The lacework is very similar to thtat shown on 31 Retreat Road whihc is a registered Design by the architects Davidson and Henderson.
