STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE - GRC - HISTORIC PLACES DOCUMENTATION SHEET NO. 291
Although this timber residence of 1890 was erected to the design of architect James Durran as his residence, there is little architectural merit evident in the design and it cannot be considered a noted example of this Geelong architect's work. The structure has been altered.

"Galashiels" Residence - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
It is a single storey timber house clad in weatherboards and the hipped roof is clad in corrugated iron. The stuccoed chimneys give an indication of it's Late Victorian design however much of the house has been extensively altered.
