Medical Rooms - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
The single storey timber building is clad in weatherboards and the hipped roof and concave verandah are clad in corrugated iron. Many elements are typical of the elaborate Late Victorian period of architecture. These include the stuccoed chimneys, decorative timber joinery in relief between paired eaves brackets, the elaborate doorway with side lights and the pediment which projects from the verandah thus emphasising the front entrance. Very few Geelong West houses have cast iron roof decoration intact. The finely detailed cast iron lace on the verandah and roof is also characteristic of the period.
