Residence - Physical Description 1
308 Bellerine Street is a timber Bungalow residence with notable details and a high degree of integrity. The facade is a prominent gable facing the street and features a central entrance below a Federation style return verandah. The roof is a large corrugated iron gable hipped at the rear and has a tall brick chimney with terracotta pots. The verandah consists of carved timber posts and a curvilinear Art Nouveau ornamental timber valance. The central entrance has a highlight, and sidelight with leadlight glass. On either side of the entrance are double hung sash windows paired in casement sills; the front window has a timber hood with detailed brackets. The gable infill has a half timbered effect with stucco and small timber brackets. The verandah floor appears to be substantially original timbers as does the picket fence at the front of the site. 308 Bellerine Street is one of a pair with the same form and decorative timber details as the adjacent building at 310 Bellerine Street. The building forms part of the residential streetscape.
