Statement of Significance
Outstanding size
Aesthetic significance
Outstanding example of species
The Japanese maple (Acer palmatum Thunb.), is located in the front garden on the west side of the residential property. It was thought to have been planted around the time the house was built in the mid 1930s but little is known of the history of the property or its garden. The tree contributes to the aesthetic of the immediate environment and its display of autumnal colours is particularly impressive providing a popular photo opportunity for tourists.
