STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
28 Fitzroy Street has architectural and historic significance at a local level. The building is a representative example of a brick Bungalow residence with notable timber details and a high degree of integrity. The building retains its characteristic siting, form and details including prominent gables at the front and side, decorative gable infill panels, casement windows with horizontal canopies, timber verandah, garden and front fence. The building forms part of the residential, streetscape. It has historical associations with the Thomas Sullivan, an electrician and original owner, for a period of over thirty five years.

DESCRIPTION
128 Fitzroy Street is a double fronted red brick residence retaining many notable Bungalow details and a high degree of integrity. The corrugated iron roof is a large gable. The facade is asymmetrical with prominent gables at the side and front of the house and a central entrance with verandah porch. The gables feature imitation timber shingles as a splaying infill panel, wide barge boards, decorative vents, and tripartite casement windows with lead light glazing . Flat timber canopies over the windows provide weather protection and a horizontal element. The verandah features timber brackets and pairs of timber posts supported on rendered piers. The north side has been filled in with lead light glazing and timber shingles. At the side of the house is an adjoining flat roof rendered garage with the original timber doors. The garden has neatly clipped topiary in keeping with the style of the Douse. The front fence is original timbers and has an unusual concrete plinth to the footpath. The building forms part of the residential streetscape.
