Residence - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
37 Fyans Street is a symmetrical double fronted Late Victorian residence with a high degree of integrity. The timber facade features double hung sash windows with side lights and Victorian architraves, a central entrance with highlight and sidelights, and a newly clad bull nosed verandah with a central pediment element. Slender round iron columns with classical Corinthian capitals and a filigree iron frieze with brackets are original notable verandah details. The corrugated iron hip roof has tall corbelled brick chimneys with rendered mouldings. Eaves brackets decorate the fascia. The front timber fence is not appropriate to the Victorian style of the residence and its height makes it difficult to view the facade from the street.
