Residence - Physical Description 1
147 Gheringhap Street is a symmetrical double fronted brick parapet Late Victorian residence with a reasonably high degree of integrity. It is difficult to view from the street due to a tall front fence which is not appropriate to the Victorian style of the house. The rendered facade features an arched central entrance and arched window openings on both sides. Unusual details include the decorative parapet with balustrade and urns, simple horizontal label moulds and corbelled chimneys. The entrance porch also features small pilasters and tessellated tiles on the floor. The ornate front facade is typical of Boom style architecture, built during a period of relative wealth in Victoria. The simple hip roof has been reclad in grey concrete tiles.
