Glenn, Boyd & Broughton Store - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
Much of the 1850's section of this building is now only visible from the side, rear or interior. Stone walls (vestsiculated basalt, some painted) the old roof form and old outbuildings fronting Dennys Place are the major external elements. The Coles & Garrard (?) renovation extended the parapet, replaced the upper levels windows, introduced a cantilevered canopy and replaced the shop fronts.
External Integrity
The Malop Street elevation has been replaced. It is original to the 1850's, on the east and rear elevations, with old building in a derelict condition. East stone elevation is painted.
Streetscape
Part of an altered commercial streetscape (26-32 Malop) which appears to be itself an early 20th century renovation of buildings erected in the 1850's.
