This Moreton Bay Fig is significant at the Regional level for its contribution to landscape, size, location and historical connection.
Why is it significant?
This Moreton Bay Fig is significant for its location next to Altona Homestead (1851), the oldest standing building in Altona, at Logan Reserve. The tree was likely planted in 1917, when significant landscape works were undertaken in Logan Reserve. The specimen has a particularly large canopy spread of 28m, and makes a significant contribution to the landscape of the neighbourhood and park.
