A single Australian Cheesewood tree at the back of the council owned Harstel House (heritage inventory H7822-2048) surrounded by high rise buildings.
How is it significant?
This tree is significant for scientific and landscape reasons at the Regional level.
Why is it significant?
This Australian Cheesewood is scientifically significant as it is an outstanding specimen. The canopy is large, dense and well established. The tree is also significant for its contribution to the landscape. The tree provides greenery in the built-up CBD setting and the canopy also provides habitat for native birds such as Rainbow Lorikeets.
