STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE:
119 Yarra Street has architectural and historic significance at a local Level. It is a representative example of a substantial Late Victorian terrace with a high degree of integrity. The residence retains typical Late Victorian siting and form and notable details, including Filigree iron lacework and biochromatic brickwork. The building also forms part of a residential streetscape. It has historical association with Daniel Fowler, a noted Geelong citizen who owned the property for over thirty five years

DESCRIPTION:
119 Yarra Street is a typical example of a Victorian Italianate terrace with a high degree of integrity. It features a single fronted facade with notable Filigree iron balustrade, frieze, brackets details and biochromatic brickwork. The bullnose verandah has a slender round iron column with classical detailing on the ground floor and a simple timber post on the first. The main entrance is set back from the facade and has two lead light fanlight above the door. The south party wall is completely clad with corrugated iron and had two small punctures in the wall for fenestration. Other notable details include exposed eaves brackets, simple double hung sash windows, a simple brick chimney with a pair of terracotta pots and a rendered strip below the windows on the ground floor and below the balustrade on ground floor. The building forms part of the residential streetscape.
