STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE:
194 Yarra Street has architectural and historic significance at a local level. It is a representative example of Edwardian housing which was once common in the Geelong region and has a high degree of integrity. The building retains its characteristic siting, form and details. It has historical association with the Griffen family who owned the property for approximately fifty five years.

DESCRIPTION:
194 Yarra Street is a timber Edwardian residence with a high degree of integrity. The asymmetrical double fronted facade features a prominent gable, a central and bullnose verandah. The gable window is a double hung casement with narrow side lights. Above this an unsuaul moulding is attached to the facade. The verandah consist of timber posts, brackets and frieze in a simple geometric pattern. The roof is a corrugated iron hip with tall brick chimneys with render mouldings and terracotta pots. The front fence is a sympathetic addition.
