Residence - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
The site at 35 Noble Street is set in a streetscape of single storey houses of mixed styles, periods and construction.
This house has narrow front and typical side setbacks, with an unmade driveway along the side. These setbacks are shown on the 1974 BHSA Plan of Drainage. The front is bound by a timber picket fence, approximately 1300mm high.
The single storey, horizontal weatherboard late Victorian cottage is characterised by a lapped galvanised corrugated iron gambrel roof with a skillion verandah projecting along the street frontage. There also appears to be an extension to the west side. Two early painted and corbelled brick chimneys are situated on the east facade and adorn the roofline. Narrow overhangs and exposed rafters are features of the eaves. The early timber framed 12 paned double hung windows are symmetrically arranged about the recent? central glazed door on the street facade.
A feature of the design is the front verandah which is supported by recent square timber posts.
