Residence - Physical Description 1
Description
The site at 5 Punt Road has typical front and side setbacks, with a driveway along the side. These setbacks are shown on the 1973 BHSA Plan of Drainage. The front is bound by a recent timber picket fence, approximately 1500mm high. The single storey, horizontal weatherboard, interwar Californian Bungalow house is characterised by two gable roofs forms, with the minor projecting gable forming a verandah. These roof forms appear to be clad in galvanised corrugated iron. A c.1947 unpainted red brick chimney adorns the roofline. Wide overhangs are a feature of the eaves. The windows at the front, arranged in horizontal banks of three, appear to be replacements. A feature of the design is the verandah gable that projects towards the street frontage. It is supported by recent square timber pots. Early decorative features of the design include the gable infill (ventilators, panelling and battening).
