Residence - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
The site at 2 McDonald Street has typical front and side setbacks, as shown on the 1928 GWST Plan of Drainage. The front is bound by a recent but appropriate timber picket fence, approximately 1200mm high.
The symmetrical, single storey, rendered brick Late Victorian house is characterised by a hipped roof and a recent? skillion verandah that projects towards the street frontage. These roof forms are clad in corrugated colorbond? Two early prominent, rendered and corbelled chimneys adorn the roofline. Narrow overhangs are a feature of the eaves, with recent? worked timber brackets providing a decorative effect. The timber framed double hung windows symmetrically arranged in pairs are a more recent addition, as are the timber shutters. The front four panel timber door with highlight? appears to be original.
The front verandah is supported by recent timber columns.
