DESCRIPTION
The site at 7 Morris Street has a substantial front setback with smaller side setbacks and a driveway along the side. These setbacks are shown on the 1955 GWST Plan of Drainage.4 An inappropriately high sheet iron and timber fence forms the front boundary (and is approximately 2000mm high).
The asymmetrical, face brick, two storey postwar Old English style house is characterised by a steeply pitched gable that traverses the site, together with a minor gable and a flat roofed dormer that project towards the street frontage and which contribute to the picturesqueness of the design. These roof forms are clad in tiles. An early, unpainted brick chimney adorns the roofline.
The early timber framed double hung windows are arranged in horizontal banks of threes and fours on the street facade.
