The Roberts Street precinct, comprising 1-11 and 2-14 Roberts Street and 23 Victoria Street, Brunswick.
How is it significant?
The Roberts Street precinct is of local historic and aesthetic significance to the City of Moreland.
Why is it significant?
Of historic significance as an example of an interwar housing estate developed after the cessation of quarrying activity in the early part of the twentieth century. (AHC Criterion A.4)
Of aesthetic significance as a representative example of an interwar housing estate with a high degree of intactness and homogeneity. (AHC Criterion E.1)

Roberts Street - Physical Description 1
Roberts Street is an interwar residential precinct, which exclusively comprises asymmetrical interwar bungalows, which are related in terms of their scale (single storey), siting (detached, front garden setback), detailing, roof forms (multi-gabled corrugated iron, incorporating porches) and materials (weatherboard, some stuccoed). Many are complemented by mature gardens. Front fences are low and some may be original.
The precinct comprises the contributory dwellings at Nos. 1-11, 2-12 and the dwelling at 23 Victoria Street, on the south-west corner of Roberts Street, which dates from the main period of development from c.1920-c.1945.Heritage Study and Grading
