What is significant? The early 20th century road bridge and the surrounding site to a radius of 25 metres.
How is it significant? The bridge is historically and technically significant to the Shire of Nillumbik.
Why is it significant? The bridge is historically and technically significant because trestle road bridges are rare within the Shire of Nillumbik; this example is particularly unusual because the bridge's supporting posts, on either side of the creek, are not parallel to each other, and it is the most intact in the Eltham area (Criteria D & B). The bridge is historically significant because its construction illustrates the growth in road transport that occurred during the early part of the 20th century (Criterion A).
