Statement of Significance
Designed by Charles Webb and built as a residence called Mosspennock in 1881/82 for Mr J L Purves, a prominent lawyer and politician, and enlarged in 1889/90.
Occupying a corner site overlooking Fitzroy Gardens, the two-storey rendered brick building in classical Italianate style has curved glass in the front bow windows. The additions on the north-west corner and the alterations and additions to the south wing are not included.
