Statement of Significance
Built for Walter Weaver, in 1926, this Bungalow form is of State significance architecturally because: it presents a complete and distinctive example of a medium-sized Bungalow in its garden setting where the Arts and Crafts influences of the Bungalow's origins in America, early this century, are clearly seen in the extensive use of stone pebbles as applied to the typically trapezoidal verandah piers, the dado to external walls, the front fence and as garden edgings; and of its other less distinctive Bungalow elements such as the central shingled bowed window bay, nested roof gables, the bird bath and the overall Bungalow form which reflects one of the two main streams of architectural influence on the Bungalow's development.
