Statement of Significance
Built in 1888 as the lodge and meeting rooms of the Ancient Order of Foresters, the hall was designed by the architects, Ravenscort and Freeman. The interior has been substantially modified by Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology but the exterior remains as a significant example of boom-style architecture in Melbourne and as an indicxator of the influence of men's lodges in 19th century Victorian society.
