Statement of Significance
Two-storey timber building believed to have been prefabricated and then imported and erected about 1852 by Edward De Carle, one of Melbourne's earliest auctioneers in what is now Albion Street near the Merri Creek in East Brunswick. The house was later dismantled and eventually re-erected for Mr Alan Strange next to his single-storey brick house.
