Land was sold to William Douglas in 1840. The house is shown on atown map dating to 1853, however it is likely to be older, dating to the oldest settlement of the area in 1834.8 GLENELG ST, PORTLAND - Interpretation of Site
Double fronted timber cottage with timber shingles. Corrugated iron roof a later addition. Site is an urban cottage. Restoration of the property may have distrubed/removed subsurface deposits.
