Statement of Significance
One of Melbourne's most sophisticated Italian Renaissance style mansions, designed for the pastoralist J L Currie in 1871, by the architects Reed & Barnes to incorporate the earlier Barham House: the most notable elevation of the garden or west front, containing a fine two storey arcuated and pilastrated loggia deriving from Bramante and Vignola, flanked by pavilions containing Palladian windows above canted bays.
