Statement of Significance
The Bright Library, designed by Mr J E Lundholm, architect, and opened in September 1910, is of Local social and architectural significance.
Architecturally, the Library is a relatively unusual type for its period, and has an impressive facade for such a diminutive building. Described at the time of building as "Elizabethan", the red brick facade, with its twin gables and recessed porch, has an important presence in the streetscape.
Socially, the Library has been a highly regarded institution in Bright throughout its life. Almost 1700 subscribers currently use the building. Centrally placed in the commercial heart of the town, it is a focal point for the community of Bright.
