Statement of Significance
This bridge is a segmental brick arch faced with stone and crosses the roadway with a single span of 15.2m at a considerable height, with good and impressive proportions.
Completed in 1862, the span is considerable for a bridge of this age and type. It was the longest brick arch span of its time and was exceeded only by five stone arches = Lansdowne (1836, 33.5 m), Parramatta (1839, 27.4 m), First Princes (1859, 47.5 m, Malmsbury (1861, 18.3 m) and Riddells Creek (1861, 18.3 m).
