Statement of Significance
A state school principally of 1889 (though incorporating a common school of 1868) with picturesque features characteristic of the Education Department architect Henry Bastow, including pyramidal bellcast profile roofs, ornamental window heads (here perserved, whereas most shcools have had their windows enlarged), and a stepped tower with steeple and lucarnes which relates partly to schools like those at Daylesford and at Brighton Road, St Kilda, and ultimately to sources like T R Smith's schools at Islington, London.
