Statement of Significance
The Bank of Victoria commenced business in Belfast in 1853 and constructed this building in 1869. The architects were Smith and Watts and it was used as a bank until the 2nd World War. The picket fence to the Prince Street frontage is a particularly interesting example. This former bank features a two storey front block designed in a Conservative Classical manner and has a smooth rusticated ground floor and projecting porch framed in Tuscan piers. The various details are distinctive elements of the building.
