Outstanding example of species
This tree is the finest example of the species known in Victoria, and forms an impressive sight with its large upright form with foliage to ground level. The tree is part of an impressive stand of conifers which includes Abies nordmanniana, Cedrus atlantica f. glauca and Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Aurea'.
The tree is located at the end of the driveway looking south.
St Fillans was purchased by Sir James Munro (Premier of Victoria 1890-92) in the late 1880s and the planting is thought to be from this period. .
