Cntribution to the landscape of historic garden
Rare or Localised
One ofonly examples of this species,rare in cultivation in Victoria. Located along the front garden fence beside a large Douglas Fir, the tree has a damaged leader. The second example located along the drive has a more impressive formThe trees form part of an impressive conifer collection developed by Sir James Munro (Premier of Victoria 1890-92), owner of St Fillans from the 1880s to 1903.
The tree died in July 2009, possibly due to water stress.
