This specimen is a very old But But tree with an extremely galled trunk. History suggests that the tree is a union of two trees with a cavity in the centre. It suffered from steel spikes and horse shoes nailed to it which were eventually covered by gall formation.
Eucalyptus bridgesiana occurs mainly in NSW on the northern and Southern Tablelands and into southern Queensland. In Victoria it occurs north and south of the Great Dividing Range and west to the Warby Range
The tree suffered severe storm damage in 1991 necessitating the removal of several branches.
