Statement of Significance
Contribution to the landscape.
This tree, known as the 'Corroboree Tree' or 'The Bishopcourt Gum', was located at Bishopscourt, the home of the Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne. 'Bishopscourt' was built between 1851-53, and is clasified by the National Trust. This tree was estimated by Dr von Mueller as 'a sapling when Cramer wrote the Prayer Book in 1549.
The tree fell over in a storm and was removed in 1997
