Statement of Significance
Contribution to historic garden
One of two examples of the species on the site, this tree has a wide spreading crown and excellent form. Both trees are the only examples of the species located in the Mildura region. 'Rio Vista' was built for W B Chaffey in 1889 and while only remnants of the early garden survive, these trees most certainly date from the 1890s when the garden was first planted. Mr Glasson of Hugan & Glasson, is attributed with the layout of 'Rio Vista's' gardens
