Statement of Significance
Austin House built on site of an earlier building byAndrew Bridges White c 1870. He was a member of the firm of Squatting & Mercantile Agents, Holmes, White & Co., and Mayor of Newtown & Chilwell in 1876.

E H Lascelles occupied it for some years before and during the First World War and Andrew Cunningham followed him in occupation. Following Cunninham's death in 1922, the house was bought from his estate by Geelong Church of England Girls' Grammar School.
