CLUNES FOUNDRY SITE (CLAYS) 1 - Heritage Inventory Description
Located on the banks of the creek, the foundry was one of four which operated in the vicinity during the 19th century. All that remains today is a heavy boiler stack made of heavy cast iron plates and a dense deposit of coke, slag and quantities of randomly occuring bluestone fragments and hand-made bricks. Numerous heaps of foundry deposits, excavated depressions and possible stonework occur around the site for a distance of 6-8 metres and to a lesser degree tens of metres towards the suspension bridge./n
