1851 - first rate book entry for building on site. From 1858 to late 1860s occupied by George Jamieson, Pawnbroker. (1866 map shows buildings along Russell Street frontage). Owner 1870s, Mrs Quirk.1880 Panorama - 2 storey building. Nos 252-254, tenant from 1881, Joseph Lavanette, building extended at this time.1905 - linked series of 2 storey shops/ buildings, including Newsagent, Loan Office, Bootmaker, Laundry.
