First land sale 1837, Allotment 16, Block 12, purchased by JP Fawkner. 1839 - three buildings. 1877 - two three-storey buildings, yards and sheds; Mechanics Hotel. 1888 - four storey buildings, Mechanics Hotel and restaurant. 1905 - two four-storey buildings, Mechanics Hotel.
