BQ HOUSE SITE 4 - History
VOL 8898/FOLIO 561 WERE ORIGINALLY SOLD AS A SUBDIVISION OF CA 38A. ALISTAIR GREEVES (DENTIST) PURCHASED THE LOT SOMETIME DURING WWII. HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN MOVED TO THE SITE AND LIVED IN A HOUSE THERE TO ESCAPE MELBOURNE DURING THE WAR. THEY FARMED DAIRY COWS IN THE 1940S. THE PROPERTY WAS SOLD TO ETHEL HUME IN 1951. MRS HUME ALSO LIVED THE HOUSE.BQ HOUSE SITE 4 - Interpretation of Site
Early use of the site for pastoral activities in first half of 20th Century. Currently owned by Boral Quarries, but remains untouched as a "buffer zone".
BQ HOUSE SITE 4 - Archaeological Significance
The site has remained undeveloped by Boral Quarries as they require a buffer zone around the quarry. Therefore there is good potential for the integrity of the site to be intact.
BQ HOUSE SITE 4 - Historical Significance
Local historical significance as an early residence in the area. Also historic significance in regards to the use of the site by a family trying to escape the effects of WWII.

Two cleared and levelled areas where house and associated buildings were located. Exotic plantings. Gates and fencing.
Two cleared levelled areas, exotic trees including lemon, gates and fencing.
