Statement of Significance
The house at 15 Campbell Street, Stawell, has significance as a moderately intact example of a Victorian style. Possibly built in the second half of the 19th century, the design is reflective of some of the residential developments in Stawell at that time. The house appears to be in fair condition when viewed from the street.
The house at 15 Campbell Street is historically and architecturally significant at a LOCAL level. It is possibly associated with residential developments in Stawell in the second half of the 19th century. The house demonstrates some original design qualities of a Victorian style.These qualities include the two projecting hipped roof wings linked by the traversing ridge line and the central convex verandah at the front. Other intact or appropriate qualities include the symmetrical composition, single storey height, horizontal timber weatherboard wall cladding, unpainted galvanised corrugated steel roof cladding, narrow eaves, and the timber framed double hung tripartite windows at the ends of the hipped roof wings.
Overall, the house at 15 Campbell Street is of LOCAL significance.

House, 15 Campbell Street, STAWELL - Physical Description 1
The house at 15 Campbell Street, Stawell, is set on a wide corner allotment and has a large front setback to Campbell Street which comprised a built up landscape of mature shrubs and trees and garden beds. There is an open grassed area towards the corner.
The symmetrical, single storey, horizontal timber weatherboard, Victorian styled house is characterised by two projecting hipped roof wings linked by a traversing ridge line. Between the flanking hipped wings is a convex verandah. These roof forms are clad in unpainted galvanised corrugated steel. Narrow overhangs are features of the eaves.
An early feature of the design is the central concave verandah. It is supported by introduced timber posts and there is a small introduced lattice screen at one end.
Other early features of the design include the timber framed double hung tripartite windows at the ends of the hipped roof wings.
