Statement of Significance
The house and hedge at 3 Johnson Street are of aesthetic significance at a CONTRIBUTORY level in the Stawell Seaby Street precinct. The house retains the qualities of a substantially intact interwar bungalow. These qualities include the hipped and gabled roof forms clad in corrugated steel, the hipped roof extending to form the hipped verandah roof, the exposed rafters at the eaves, the double, square timber verandah posts, the paired casement timber windows with transom lights, the front door with sidelights, transom light and decorative timber screen door and the brick chimney with corbelled brick banding. The mature large boundary hedge contributes to the significance of the place.
