Statement of Significance
The building at 2-4 Wakeham Street, Stawell is of aesthetic significance at a CONTRIBUTORY level in the Stawell Seaby Street precinct. Although altered and extended the building retains qualities of a characteristic nineteenth century commercial building. These qualities include the scale and proportions of the building, the rendered facade with a parapet concealing the roofline, pilasters marking the original building into three bays, each pilaster marked on the parapet by an arched capping, the stringcourse that marks the parapet and its supporting render brackets.
