HOUSE - Physical Description 1
This red brick house is of interest for the juxtapositions of building forms. The central section may possibly have been constructed first, as the roof form and slender French windows appears to indicate an early constructions date. This section also lacks the bands of cream brick seen in the flanking wings.
The wing to the left would appear to have been added next; and differed from the earlier by the use of cream brick bands and had been added next; and differs from the earlier by the use of cream brick bands and ha s a later roof form.
Here the French windows in the projecting bay are flanked by deep, narrow double hung windows. The right hand side wing appears to date from the 1890's, and has echoed the bay window on the left, but had a balder form and less elegant windows proportions. The verandah would appear to date from this time. The cast iron frieze is of a small but intricate design of intersecting circles.
