Statement of Significance
The fine timberwork displayed on this cottage is highly intact and of great significance. It is representative of the carved timberwork which appears on buildings in Buninyong and is indicative of the work executed by craftsmen in the district. It is therefore characteristic of Buninyong in its use and adaptation of timber.

Timber Cottage (House) - Physical Description 1
Erected on a corner site, the cottage fronts onto Inglis Street with a symmetrically conceived facade. An inset verandah runs between two protruding gable end bays which each contain single rectangular windows. The walls are clad with beaded weatherboards and the roof with corrugated iron. Finely carved timberwork enhances the Gothic character of this simple cottage and is exhibited in the verandah frieze, verandah openwork columns, gable bargeboards and finials.
Timber Cottage (House) - Integrity
The cottage itself remains largely intact externally. The original fence has been removed and it is recommended that a timber picket fence replace the existing one. It is also recommended that a conservation analysis be carried out before any future work is undertaken.
