STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
A house transitional from Victorian to Edwardian built in c1895. It is architecturally significant locally as a representative example of this transitional style. It is historically significant as an embodiment of the way of life in Newtown at the turn of the century.
INTACTNESS: Apparently very good. There is a c1960's skillion addition at the right a high fence which is not appropriate.
CONDITIONS AND THREATS. Excellent. None

Residence - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
A hiproofed, timber house transitional from Victorian to Edwardian, of unusual massing. Minor gables splay at the angles and the skillion verandah extends all around. Gables have round barges, supported on ogee and quarter round brackets, with Classicising motifs. Roofs are supported on unusual coved brackets. The rendered chimneys have unusually fine Classical mouldings and terracotta pots. Beyond the left gable is a further, minor one, in the angle of another hipped wing. This is over the entrance, with a four-panel door, with side and fanlights. (Obscured).
