Centaur Memorial - Veterans Description for Public
The Centaur Memorial, outside the Fawkner Towers in Slater Street, comprises of the mast of the hospital ship Centaur which was torpedoed on 14th May 1943. The mast was donated in 1951 by Huddard Parker Limited in memory of the nurses aboard the Centaur who lost their lives.
