Statement of Significance
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE:
A timber early Californian Bungalow built in 1902-3. It is locally architectural significant as representative of this style, with some remnant garden element of the period. It is of historically significant as a representative embodiment of the way of life of a comfortable family in 1920s Newtown.
INTACTNESS: Excellent. The fence is recent and not appropriate.
CONDITIONS AND THREATS: Very good. Traffic

Unit - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
An unusual hip-roofed timber, triple-fronted Californian Bungalow, transitional from Edwardian. A gable projects at left centre, and a major gable faces. The verandah extends around this. At its left, is a splayed bay window. The upper gable is below. The verandah posts are plain, but have a coved sunflower motif on brackets. The valence is turned spindles and palisades panels. Chimneys are unusual and corbel at angles with terracotta pots. At left is a shallow hood on ogee brackets and a sunflower motif, there is Cordyline at front and other mature trees.
