Statement of Significance
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
An increasingly rare early timber workers cottage built in 1860. It is architecturally significant as representative ofthis early style and type and historically significant as a representative embodiment ofthe way oflife ofworking people in early Newtown, rare also in this elevated location.

Residence - Physical Description 1
VISUAL DESCRIPTION A simple symmetrical doublefronted, hiproofed, Early cottage, surviving on a busy comer, with the timber parapeted side walls on the boundaries. There is a simple corbelled brown brick internal chimney and a bullnosed verandah across the front with stall boarded ends. It has a solid rail valence with incised quatrefoils on decorative fretwork brackets and bevelled posts and a panelled door. There is a skillion at the rear.
