Statement of Significance
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
An unusual very early timber Californian Bungalow built in 1914. It is locally architecturally significant as interesting, characteristic and particularly early of this type and historically significant as evidence of the domestic setting of professionals in Newtown immediately before the Great War.

DESCRIPTION
An unusual doublefronted timber very early Californian Bungalow with a hipped roof. The right bay is set forward as a broad gable, extending past the hip. It has an unusual triple louvred vent with curious nested gabled tops. Chimneys are Voyseyan red brick with render frieze and plate top supported on coved brackets with unglazed terracotta pots.
The verandah extends at left under the hip with a panelled section over and around the angle at right, terminating at the. double entrance doors, with highlights. The verandah has post pairs with a palisade valance between convex fretwork brackets below, and sinuous Art Nouveau influenced ogee brackets beside.
